Bomb scare outside the Gherkin

Normality has been resumed after police conducted a controlled explosion on a potential bomb threat outside the gherkin in central London this morning.

Concerns were raised as a taxi was abandoned on St Mary Axe Street overnight resulting in hundreds of surrounding offices to be evacuated.

Workers at treasury solutions told city news that they waited “several hours” to re-enter the street.
